Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall Semester!

As we reach an end to our summer course I am now preparing myself for my senior year at SDSU. Although in the spring it will be a year I became an Aztec, I wish I was able to spend more time on campus. I feel like after transferring from Miramar I made it a goal to graduate as soon as I could, and while I am on the path to accomplish that I feel like I have not been able to fully enjoy my school outside of classes.

My fall semester will be jam packed again with 18 units, just like my first semester at SDSU I will be taking another 6 classes. Last semester I ended with a 3.4, this summer if I get an A in this class I will have achieved a 4.0 this semester, my goal next semester is to do better than a 3.4, hopefully strive for a 3.8 or 4.0. I feel like it will be a challenge considering the classes I will be taking, but at the same time I am excited, I like a challenge when it comes to school. As fall semester starts I will also be dropping down to part time at my job, which I am super looking forward to. I will have more time throughout the week to focus on school and potentially look for an internship. This last half of the year I plan on finally studying for the LSAT since applications for law schools open on the first day of September. That is also one thing I have to study and work hard on as well.

Reflecting back on this year so far I can say that I am very proud of myself, in community college I didn’t do too well and my grades were below average, it’s a surprise I even got into SDSU, but now I am here I have been able to do way better than I expected myself to do. Although I do regret not doing my best and seeing my GPA suffer and now trying to boost it up as much as I can, I can only look forward for now on and continue to push myself and try my hardest to get the best grades.

So what does Zelle think?  As fall semester approaches us I think mine will be a rollercoaster, one I am excited to get on. I plan on managing my time wisely since now I will have an extra day to do school work or study for the LSAT. I plan on starting my applications for Law Schools and draft up my personal statements, which this class has helped me with my writing and I feel more confident and ready to start on it. I am also pushing myself to venture out more outside of class and get to know my classmates better in my classes.

It has been a fun last half of Summer with this class and with those who have read my blogs, I hope you all get the grades you all were wishing for in this class and wishing you all the best for this upcoming semester!

  1. Hey Zelle, I enjoyed reading about what you thought. I too am also a transfer student, I came from Mesa, and I find that I'm still unaware of the campus at large. A had and still do have a similar mindset when you first came to SDSU. However, I did try and make it a point and explore as much of the campus as I could. And by that, I mean walking around campus and seeing where all the landmarks of interest where. I don't think the mindset we possess is a terrible one, but I do agree that it's easy to get caught up in that and not have time for other things. This writing class has taught me a lot and I enjoyed reading your post. I pray we both do great in our fall semester.
